Santo Domingo. The AES Dominican Foundation and the Supérate Program signed an inter-institutional cooperation agreement aimed at promoting the socioeconomic development and financial autonomy of low-income women.
The agreement, signed by Gloria Reyes, general director of the Supérate Program, and Edwin De los Santos, president of the AES Dominicana Foundation, establishes technical and business training for women, adapting the content to their specific needs and to the local socioeconomic context, in the communities of Boca Chica (Greater Santo Domingo), Montecristi and Peravia.
“This agreement represents a significant step. By joining forces with Supérate, we are investing in the future of entrepreneurial women who have the potential to transform their lives and those of their families. We are convinced that, through this alliance, we will sow the seeds for a lasting and positive change in the communities,” said Edwin De los Santos.
The agreement will have an initial duration of three years and will focus on the implementation of a comprehensive entrepreneurship program that will provide tools, knowledge and resources for the creation of sustainable business projects.
Participants will develop skills in business planning, financial management, marketing and technology use, supported by high-quality educational materials. In addition, success stories among participants will be identified and promoted, which will serve as inspiring examples and models of good practice for future initiatives of the programme.
“The relationship we have built with Fundación AES translates into the creation of more opportunities for women in Montecristi and the rest of the country to escape poverty. We have invested energy and resources in the training, support and advice of Super Entrepreneurs, fostering their autonomy and breaking paths of vulnerability. And with this new alliance, we aspire to deepen these changes in many more families,” said Gloria Reyes, general director of the Supérate Program.
For its implementation, the creation of an Inter-institutional Commission is planned, responsible for monitoring the implementation of the defined programs, ensuring that the established objectives are met.
For its part, the AES Dominicana Foundation is committed to providing $75,000 for the implementation of entrepreneurship projects in the aforementioned communities, with a staggered distribution of funds based on the progress of the program and the presentation of financial reports.
