The Paraguayan Federation of Loggers (Fepama) signed a cooperation agreement with the Vice Ministry of the Investment and Export Network (REDIEX), of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), in order to launch the organization of the Paraguay Wood Expo 2023.
The act took place this Tuesday at the MIC headquarters, with the presence of Minister Luis Castiglioni, REDIEX Vice Minister, Ambassador Estefanía Laterza, among other authorities such as the president of the National Forestry Institute (Infona), Cristina Goralewski. For Fepama, the union’s president, Mr. Raúl Legal, and members of the Board of Directors were present.
The vice minister of REDIEX, Estefanía Laterza and Amancio Legal, from Fepama, endorsed the document, before the minister Luis Alberto Castiglioni as witness of honor.
During the formal act, the head of Fepama He thanked the support provided by REDIEX, which is committed to this initiative that aims to strengthen the timber and forestry sector in Paraguay.
“We bet on this Expo Madera so that both buyers of wood and foreign investors can see the beautiful things that are made of wood in Paraguay, products with totally renewed technology and international quality,” he pointed out.
He indicated that the support of REDIEX will enable a greater participation of exhibitors, both members and non-members of Fepama, which will give the event greater brilliance and diversity.

For his part, Minister Castiglioni said: “Today we sign this agreement to contribute to the development and strengthening of the capacities of this important sector of the national economy, which every day is positioned better internationally through exports.”
It should be noted that from the signing of this agreement, framed within Project 3865 OC/PR “Support in Business Development Services to Paraguayan Exporting Companies”, work will begin on the entire organizational part.
Although there is no officially confirmed date or place, the idea is to hold Expo Madera within the first semester of 2023, possibly at the end of May at the headquarters of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee (COP), one of the most important novelties being its modality. virtual and face-to-face.
This would be the fourth edition of Expo Madera, organized by Fepama in 2015, 2017 and 2018, the first at the “Textilia” Exhibition Center and the last two at the Mariscal de Asunción Shopping Events Center.
