Agreed prices, discounts and promotions for the beginning of the school year

The imminent start of the new school year brought, like every year, various offers for the purchase of supplies, ranging from school basket of prices agreed by the Government with manufacturers and merchants, to promotions of bookstores, supermarkets and banks.

Government launched the program last week Back to School with + Care Prices 2022, that establishes reference values ​​for the school basket and includes more than 160 products from 25 items, which are offered until March 31, both in commercial bookstores and in large supermarket chains throughout the country.

It is a renewed list that incorporates key products from the textile sector, such as overalls in all sizes, fleece pants and sweatshirts, and varieties of slippers; and specific care items against Covid-19, such as alcohol gel and chinstraps.

All the products of the agreement can be found in the supermarket chains Carrefour, Disco, Jumbo, Vea, Coto, La Anónima, Walmart and Changomas, bookstores and businesses attached to the Argentine Chamber of Stationery Stores, Book Stores and Related (Capla), All Fashion and branches of Cooperativa Obrera.

Simultaneously, banks, bookstore chains and supermarkets, launched different options, benefits and discounts for their customers to facilitate access to the 2022 school basket.

In that sense, Banco Nación (BNA) launched the Back to School campaign, through the implementation of exclusive discounts for the school basket, which includes bookstore items, school clothing, children’s footwear and educational textbooks, and will be valid between February 16 and 19.

This is a 30% discount for purchases in one payment with Nation, Visa and Mastercard credit cards, and in the case of customers of the BNA+ MODO virtual wallet, an additional 10% discount can be obtained.

In the case of supermarkets, Carrefour told Télam that “it is added to the Care Prices school basket, available until March 31, which includes more than 160 products from 25 categories, among which is the textile sector, of care against Covid-19 and school supplies, such as pencils, spare leaves, notebooks and pens, among others”.

Further, the chain offers its customers a 50% discount on the second unit in writing and craftsand a 25% discount or 12 installments without interest in school stationery, canopies, cartridge cases and school backpacks in all hypermarkets in the country.

They also include financing proposals until March 15 with six interest-free installments with the Carrefour Card with no minimum purchase and three with all credit cards on purchases over $3,000 in writing instruments, crafts, cartridge cases, canopies, backpacks and stationery. school.

While, the commercial bookstore chain Alot, formerly known as Staples, also incorporated back-to-school promotions.

They told this agency that this year “the sale of cartridge belts and backpacks was once again accentuated, which are less available in the market than in previous years,” and pointed out that “the basic school basket has a notebook, black pencil, highlighters, markers , rubber, pencil sharpener, folders, temperas, vinyl adhesives, scissors, pens and rulers”.

In relation to prices, they specified that “the minimum of a kit for kindergarten is $800 and the maximum is $6,999; while for primary it goes from $1,250 to $8,999 and for secondary it ranges between $1,499 and $9,999”.

“These prices are without using promotions that reach up to 50% discount or installments without interest, and there are also discounts, which are usually made with purchases in quantity, as well as special discounts with banks,” they indicated.
