He volunteering Agents at 100of the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (minerd), held a nationwide civic and pedagogical day this Monday to commemorate the birth of the patrician Juan Pablo Duarteas part of the second student volunteer mission called “Corazón de Duarte”.
The initiative was aimed at strengthening the national identity, the values and the civic awareness in the country’s educational centers, through training and student participation activities.
The central event was headed by the Minister of Education, Luis Miguel De Camps, who urged young people to assume the Homeland as a daily responsibility and to exercise a active citizenship from classrooms and communities.
The official pointed out that, although the current challenges are different from those of the independence era, it is up to each generation to preserve the national identity and the values citizens as part of the Duarte’s legacy.

The main activity was carried out in San Pedro de Macoriswhere the student Perla Durán Martínezmission leader Heart of Duartecalled on young people to become agents of change from commitment, participation and service.
The day is part of the Citizens 100 strategylinked to the teaching of Morals, Civics and Citizen Ethics, which promotes youth leadershipstudent participation and the exercise of responsible citizenship in the country’s educational centers.
