Agência Brasil explains how to regularize voter registration

Voters who intend to vote in the October general elections have four months to regularize their situation in the Electoral Court. As of May 4, the voter registration will be closed and no changes can be made. Agência Brasil explains how to regularize voter registration

THE title regularization voter registration can be done in the site of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). The deadline also applies to those who will request the first copy of the document to vote for the first time, transfer the polling place or update personal data.

To verify their status, the voter must enter the site of the TSE and check if there is any debt in your name for imposing a fine for not having voted in previous elections, the most common case of irregularity.

The vote in Brazil is mandatory and those who do not show up on election day pay a fine of approximately R$ 3.50 for each shift if they do not justify their absence.

After making the payment, through the Union Collection Guide (GRU), it is necessary to wait for the Electoral Court to identify the payment of the fine and download it into the system, which will show that the debt has been paid.

The voter whose title is canceled due to consecutive absence in three elections, in addition to paying the fine, must request a review of the cancellation or a transfer of domicile to be up to date with the Electoral Justice.

regularization

After checking their situation and settling the pending issues, the voter must start the regularization process through the site titlenet.

In addition to filling in your personal data, you will be asked to scan the following documents: photo ID, proof of residence, proof of payment of electoral debts and proof of military service discharge (for men only). Images must be legible.

The voter must also attach a selfie to the application. In the photo, you must hold, next to your face, the official identification document, without the use of glasses, caps, caps, among other objects.

After filling in all the information, the information verification procedure will start. In case of lack of documents, the Electoral Justice may contact the voter to ask for the complementation of the information.

In the end, the request for regularization will be accepted or denied by the electoral judge. The progress of the electronic process can also be accompanied on the platform.

Transfer

The request to transfer the polling place can also be made by the site of the TSE. The measure applies to Brazilians who have moved to another city. Among the rules, it is necessary that the voter has been living in the municipality for at least three months.

Those who live abroad must apply for a transfer at the Brazilian embassy or consulate. Brazilians abroad only vote for President of the Republic.

Video published by the TSE on the internet shows the step by step to transfer the title.

The first round of elections will be held on October 2, when voters go to the polls to elect the President of the Republic, governors, senators, federal, state and district deputies. Any second round will be on October 30th.
