Agência Brasil and two journalists from Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) were among those chosen for the +Admirados Award from the Economy, Business and Finance Press, announced this Tuesday (21). 
Edgard Matsuki, from National Radio Agencyand Wellton Máximo, from Brazil Agencywill be honored in the Top50 +Admired Journalists category in the area. Already the Brazil Agency It was among the three most admired news agencies in the country, alongside Reuters and Agência Estado.
“It is a source of pride that the work of the Agency and also of employees of the Agency and the Radio Agency are recognized by their peers, becoming part of this list”, celebrates the director of Journalism at EBC, Cidinha Matos.
For Edgard Matsuki, the achievement is recognition of EBC’s role in public communication.
“Managing to win an award of this size is yet another recognition not only of the personal work at Tira-Dúvidas do IR but also of the role of EBC, in bringing content that educates and teaches. It is also a victory for Radioagência Nacional, EBC’s journalism and the company as a whole”, he celebrates.
Experienced Economy reporter for Agência Brasil, Wellton Máximo is on the list for the first time in 10 editions of the Award and reinforces the importance of looking at the citizen.
“This is not an individual victory, but above all the recognition of public communication in explaining and translating macroeconomics to the reader. For 18 years, this has been my routine at the Ministry of Finance, always guided by the interest of the news for the citizen”, he explains.

The company’s CEO, Andre Basbaum, also celebrated the honors and highlighted that they “are a sign that we are on the right path towards valuing public journalism”.
“We are a public communications company that uses journalism as an essential tool for searching for the truth and combating misinformation, contributing to the strengthening of democracy in Brazil”, he states.
The awards ceremony will take place on November 24th, in São Paulo, in an event that promises to bring together the main names in the Brazilian press and celebrate the work of professionals who stood out during the year. In addition to awarding certificates to those honored, the most voted in the 14 thematic categories and the Top 10 Admired Journalists of the Year will be announced, including the overall champion.
