The National Fire Management Service (SNMF) announced today that all the incendiary sources that remained active in the province of currents were fully controlled. Hopeful news after more than two months under fire emergency.
In its latest situational report, the agency attached to the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development confirmed that “with the support of fire hydrant planes, they managed to contain the fires in the Corrientes localities of Caá Catí and Ituzaingó”, active since last January, when the claims were unleashed in currents.
Also, they maintain that “There is no evidence of possible fires or hot spots in the entire province of currents”, which could mean the end of the igneous emergency in the region. However, they assured that they will keep the entire territory under constant surveillance.
According to official data published today by the entity, between January 1 and March 15 of this year, some 81,204 hectares of natural forests and farmland were affected by the voracious flameswhich translates into more than 10% of correntino territory.

In this Sunday’s report, the SNMF also highlighted that the incendiary sources that remained active in the provinces of Santa Fe, Catamarca, Neuquén and Río Negro were already “contained”but it required the dispatch of hydrant planes and fire brigades to be able to fully mitigate them.
In the Santa Fe municipality of Vera and in the town of Fray Mamerto Esquiú in Catamarca, the flames are contained by fire brigades and air and ground hydrant support teams.
While the disasters focused on the towns of Aluminé, Neuquén, and Bariloche, Río Negro, required the help of planes, helicopters and hydrant boats to contain them.
