After turbulent months, the DC has a new helmsman: deputy Alberto Undurraga assumes the presidency of the community

After turbulent months in the Christian Democracy, marked by numerous “historical” departures, the party’s national council unanimously approved -31 votes in favor- that deputy Alberto Undurraga be the new president of the community.

Aldo Mardones, who assumed the presidency on an interim basis, after the noisy departure of Felipe Delpin, stated that “the national council accepted the proposal of the board of directors to incorporate Undurraga as one more member of our board of directors.”

“Alberto Undurraga will assume the role of national president. We wish him the greatest success,” added Mardones, who resumed the post of first vice president of the Christian Democracy.

But another important decision was made in the instance, since the council approved the resignation of Vice President Yasna Provoste, who left the board of the community to allow Undurraga to occupy one of the three parliamentary seats allowed by the party’s statute.

These decisions are given in the face of the national meeting of the PDC next Saturday, November 12, where, according to comments, various militants are expected to decide whether to remain in the store or not.
