The Mayor’s Office of La Paz reported this Sunday that heavy machinery has been cleaning the head of the Taypichuro river since yesterday and in the lower part of the basin it removes drag material, in the Rosasani area, where yesterday morning a mazamorra covered the vault, affected a housing and the main road of the place.
“In the upper part of the basin we are restoring the passage of the creek so that the water drains through its natural channel,” explained the municipal secretary for Comprehensive Risk Management, Juan Pablo Palma.
According to information from the council, since Saturday two excavators have been working in the upper part of the river with the support of dump trucks to remove stones and earth, similar machinery works in the middle part of the basin, in addition to backhoes and excavators in the part of the sand pits.
Mayor Iván Arias carried out an inspection on Saturday afternoon of the work carried out on the Taypichuro River, in the Rosasani area. He walked from Av. Periférica to the head of the basin and on his walk he listened to neighbors who not only asked for attention but also explained the causes of the obstruction of the river and the clogging of the ditch.
Palma explained that in Rosasani they worked with heavy equipment all night cleaning the basin at the head of the Taypichuro River and cleaning of the drag material is carried out in the lower part. “It involves a significant effort in the area of heavy machinery,” he said.
