In a bulletin released on Sunday night, the medical team that serves former President Jair Bolsonaro at DF Star Hospital reported that after surgery, he is in the intensive care unit, clinically, painless, receiving clinical, nutritional and infections prevention measures.
According to the note, Bolsonaro underwent extensive adhesion lysis surgery and abdominal wall reconstruction. The large procedure lasted 12 hours, occurred without complications and without the need for blood transfusion.
Obstruction was the result of a small bowel fold, which made intestinal transit difficult and was undone during the release procedure of these adhesions.
The bulletin is signed by doctors Claudio Birolini, head of the surgical team; Cardiologists Leandro Echenique and Ricardo Camarinha; Guilherme Meyer, hospital’s medical director, and Allisson Barcelos Borges, general director of the institution.
