After possible protests from emblematic high schools: Minister of Education made a new call to stop violence and start dialogue

Within the framework of the 2023 school start, the Minister of Education, Marco Antonio Ávila, made a new call for dialogue and to avoid violence, after the probable return of the secondary education protests motivated by the emblematic high schools of the Metropolitan region.

Minister Ávila’s arguments are related to the increase in the budget in the portfolio, in order to supply better implements to establishments and to invest in those that have infrastructure problems.

It should be noted that a few days ago the Secretary of State declared that he believes in the mobilizations “to the extent that this is within the framework of respect for public space, without burning buses, with the opportunity for dialogue”, so in this opportunity once again called for a peaceful demonstration.

As indicated on that occasion, the first protest is expected for March 9, so the Carabineros created a special plan to face the mobilization.

In addition, the Minister of Education pointed out that acts of violence damage public education, noting that their protagonists are minority groups that affect the rest of the school communities. For this reason, they intend to approach these students in order to dialogue.
