He stressed: “Let’s talk about Uruguay,” suggesting that the country faces considerable challenges that merit priority attention over external debates. He highlighted critical issues such as child poverty, indicating that 6,000 poor children are born in the country every year, calling it a significant inconsistency in the national political agenda.

He noted that several police unions, lawyers and organizations have argued against these measures.
