Next, President Cortizo Cohen, special guests and his government team went to the Basilica Santa María La
Antigua for the Tedeum in commemoration of the 119th anniversary of the Separation of Panama from Colombia, a ceremony presided over by Monsignor José Domingo Ulloa, Archbishop of Panama, and the Ecumenical Committee of Panama.

The archbishop stated that the date is propitious to renew the commitment to a better Panama while highlighting the noble, peaceful nature and dialogue of the Panamanian people with which they have achieved momentous events such as independence from Spain in 1821, separation of Colombia in 1903, reconstruction of the country after the invasion of 1989, the recovery of the Canal in 1999 and its expansion.
