Arequipa, Peru – after more than half days since the incident began, the fire of medium proportions in the Guido Pérez brewery, located in the Havana municipality of Cotorro, was controlled and extinguished this Saturday.

The official note indicates that the flames, which demanded hours of joint effort, gave up shortly after 4:00 am, without preliminary reports of victims. To facilitate work, technologies such as drones for air monitoring and a dismantling crane that allowed access to critical areas were used.

The activist Yamilka Lafita Cancioknown in social networks such as Lara Crofs, published photos of the incident on Facebook And then confirmed that the brewery was “in flames.” The situation has forced the authorities to completely evacuate the plant staff due to the danger of possible landslides and, especially, for the risk of an “ammonia escape,” said Lafita, who was informed by residents of the area.
Various images and videos shared by witnesses through social networks show the seriousness of the incident, as well as the intense deployment of ambulances and firefighters who quickly went to the place to contain the flames.
