After more than 20 years, UDELAR is on strike for a larger budget

At a time when UDELAR is in full conflict, due to a larger budget to be able to adequately attend to a growing enrollment of students and reduce job insecurity, the Citizen Perception Plant conducted a public opinion survey regarding such a claim.

The survey was conducted between Friday, September 30 and Monday, October 3, 2022.

According to the results of the survey, which LARED21 accessed, 83% of the population agrees that the government grant more budget for the hiring of UDELAR teachers.

On the other hand, 84% consider it “correct” to allocate a budget increase to the University for personal remuneration, which approximates them to the rest of the Public Education salaries.

Likewise, 58% agree that UDELAR needs more budget to cover the increase in scholarships.
