Santiago de los Caballeros. – The Mayor’s Office of Santiago officially left the completion work of the Central Fire Station, with an investment of RD $ 66,531,907.37, financed with resources from the municipal administrative budget and the central government.
This work, located in the El Dorado sector, remained unfinished and abandoned for more than 15 years, and now advances to provide decent and efficient service to the city.
At the beginning of the work, Mayor Ulises Rodríguez stressed that this is a work of local, regional and national significance, and with it they are fulfilling a commitment assumed with the citizenship, becoming a reality of many years of the city.
“We are in front of this work that was abandoned for more than 15 years. Many thought it would never be completed, but today, with facts and not with words, we are demonstrating that it can be met. The termination of this central firefighters will allow our firefighters to be better to serve and protect the lives of our people, ”said the mayor.
The council of councilors of Santiago approved in a last session to unanimity that the central station of the Firefighters bears the name of former mayor José Enrique Sued, in recognition of his firm decision to initiate the construction of this important building for the city.

Engineer Luis Lora, president of the Santiago Fire Department Help Board, said:

Technical details of the work
The work, under the supervision of the Municipal Public Works Department, contemplates a broad intervention plan. Structural reinforcement with reinforced concrete walls will be executed, guaranteeing greater resistance and stability.
In the road area, earth movements, polished concrete pavement, construction of curbs, sidewalks and road signage will be made. The perimeter fence will consist of blocks of blocks, columns and metal structure.
The operational zone will have garages with capacity for four units and a light mechanics area. In the administrative part, a reception, offices, conferences room, kitchen, dining room, general warehouse, bomb room, bedrooms, bathrooms and dressing rooms will be lifted.
As for modern facilities, the station will have a 225KVA transformer, a 30KVA generator, sanitary and storm drainage systems, gas supply and latest generation health facilities. The design also incorporates inclusive ramps, perimeter corridors, green areas and a wall of honor with commemorative plaque.
The event was also attended by the ViceAlcaldesa Mariana Moreno, the president of the council of councilors Cholo d’Elloo, together with a commission of councilors, as well as the Secretary General of the Mayor’s Office, Arismendi Dajer, the engineer Andrés Cueto, director of Corasan, Ivan Garcia, director of Intabaco, Bernardo Hilario, director of the regional service of Norcentral Health Martínez, director of municipal public works and other municipal and government officials.
