Juantorena left the Pedro Kourí Institute of Tropical Medicine (IPK) in Havana a week ago, where he was hospitalized for several days for dengue and bronchopneumonia, to which were added the consequences of COVID-19.
The former athlete is the only Cuban athlete to win two olympic gold medalsin the 400 and 800 meter dash at the 1976 Montreal Games.
