After heavy rains, residents of Paraibuna and Itirapina can use FGTS

Caixa Econômica Federal began receiving withdrawal requests from the Severance Indemnity Fund (FGTS) due to calamity from residents of Paraibuna. After heavy rains, residents of Paraibuna and Itirapina can use FGTS

Starting tomorrow (6), it will also receive requests from residents of Itirapina.

The two cities in the state of São Paulo were affected by strong storms in November. The benefit will be available until March 4th and 5th, 2026.

According to Caixa’s advice, it is necessary to have a balance in the Severance Indemnity Fund (FGTS) account and not have made a withdrawal for the same reason in a period of less than 12 months.

Money

The maximum withdrawal amount is R$6,220 per linked account, limited to the available balance in the account. The request can be made through the FGTS Application.

Saque Calamidade is a benefit that can be requested by workers due to personal, urgent and serious needs in the event of a natural disaster (flooding, landslides, heavy rains, etc.) that has reached their residence, after an official declaration by the city’s Civil Defense.

The list of 112 municipalities that were already qualified to date, with deadlines ranging from this month to March 2026, is in the Caixa website. There, you can also consult the documents that the worker must present.
