In the Plaza Lázaro Cárdenas, the general director of the National Polytechnic Institute, Arturo Reyes Sandoval, promised to implement actions to meet the list of demands from the student community.
Among the agreements reached are the formation of a Follow-up Commission for the demands with the participation of students and rescheduling the suspended academic and administrative activities, as of the delivery of the facilities.
He also promised to give “immediate attention” to complaints of sexual harassment and gender violence. For this, the General Secretariat of the IPN, through the Polytechnic Unit for Management with a Gender Perspective and the Polytechnic Rights Ombudsman, must compile and present a report, within a period not exceeding 10 business days, on the care to complaints.
In addition, the Guinda Line program will be implemented to provide preventive psychological care and a Gender Commission will be installed to detect, address and punish sexual harassment and gender-based violence in the IPN.
The director maintained that there will be no sanctions against the participants of the movement and asked to install a permanent module for the attention and confidentiality of student complaints.
It also agreed to establish personalized attention tables in each academic unit and guarantee the free issuance of certificates, tickets, opinions and credentials of upper middle and higher level.
He added that all students will have current affiliation to the IMSS Optional Insurance; that the educational infrastructure will be reviewed and needs will be surveyed to optimize its use.
He affirmed that there will be an update of the teaching staff and new mechanisms for evaluating teaching performance.
