The circulation of trains on lines 8-Diamante and 9-Esmeralda, in the city of São Paulo, was normalized after the interruption caused in the early morning. According to ViaMobilidade, responsible for the management of the tracks, on Line 8-Diamante the trains circulated on a single track, causing reduced speed and longer intervals in the stretch. The failure occurred from 4 am to 7 am, due to a problem in the air network between Jandira and Barueri stations.
On Line 9-Esmeralda, the interruption occurred due to a fire in external cables that cross the tracks in the region of Santo Amaro and João Dias stations, stopping circulation in the section between Santo Amaro and Granja Julieta, between 6:00 and 8:05.
According to ViaMobilidade, the Support Plan between Companies in Emergency Situations (Paese), which includes the use of buses, was activated to serve passengers and was canceled at 8:15 am.
The lines are part of the rail transport system that was the responsibility of Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM) and started to be managed by ViaMobilidade in January of this year.
