The Senate approved on Wednesday (23) new rules for air transport of domestic animals. The proposal, which returns for analysis by the House of Representatives, requires airlines to offer options for transporting dogs and cats appropriate to the size and functions of the animal.

The bill was called Joca Law, remembering the episode of the dog Joca (photo) that died after error in destination and inappropriate transportation.
After the approval, the senator celebrated that, for the first time, Brazil will have legislation on the subject.
“Now airlines will be able to offer pets transport on aircraft but in a safe way to animals and passengers.”
In October last year, the Ministry of Ports and Airports announced the Animal Air Transportation Plan (PATA)with more rigid rules for the transport of animals on flights.
