After Martín Vizcarra He received five months in preventive detention, for the alleged crime of bribery in the cases ‘Lomas de Ilo’ and ‘Regional Hospital of Moquegua’, the former president uploaded a strong message to his account of Tiktok.
A few hours after the measure was known, the politician spread a clip (previously recorded) in which he anticipated the failure. As he explained, I already knew what was going to happen for two days due to the filtration of the resolution.
“This is no longer about justice, it is about politics,” said the ex -president, accusing the existence of a “mafia pact that is governing Peru from the shadows and is taking all the institutions and powers of the State.”
Martín Vizcarra recalled his vacancy in 2020, as well as his expulsion three times from the Peru First Party, an organization that he founded: “And now, in the height, they get imprisoned without having a sentence or condemnation,” he added.
The former president argued – by means of his Tiktok account – that his preventive detention is part of a broader plan to consolidate the power of a political and economic group that, in his opinion, seeks to “take over the whole country.”
The ex -president said that his case is a warning for those who try to implement reforms or modernize the State: “It is no longer about me, but about the danger that this corrupt mafia pact will take possession of our entire country.”
Vizcarra calls citizens
In his message, Martín Vizcarra asked international organizations and Peruvians, especially new generations, act to avoid – which he considers – a threat to democracy.
“To you, citizen, man and young woman who wants to see a prosperous and modern country, avoid this situation,” he said.
The former governor urged the National Unity and “Raise the Voice” against what he described as a network of corruption that controls the institutions. “It’s time to fight among all to save our democracy and lead the country along the path of progress and development that we all deserve,” he said.
Finally, Vizcarra closed its pronouncement with a blunt message: “Enough of this mafia and corrupt covenant that is governing us and is taking over all of Peru.”
