An atmosphere of art, fun and learning was experienced this weekend in the Ñu Guasu Park, within the framework of the “Paraguay Más Jaguareté” campaign, which seeks to highlight the importance of protecting the species and its habitat, in addition to ensuring its permanence in the ecosystems in which it is present.
The largest cat in America is in serious danger of extinction. In just 30 years deforestation has reduced his home to small isolated forests; many of these have lost the necessary conditions to maintain a viable population of the species.
To continue protecting the jaguars that live in the Mbaracayú Forest Nature Reserve and the Morombí Private Nature Reserve, the campaign was born “Paraguay Plus Jaguarette”, promoted by WWF-Paraguay with the support of A Todo Pulmón, which aims to reconnect its habitat and continue fighting to conserve the species, not only in the Atlantic Forest, but also at a national level.

In order to pay homage to the king of our forests, four national muralists: Gutti Barrios, Rolo Ocampos, Priz Praz Pruz, Tanu Barceló got together and created a work that represents the different moments that the jaguar lives: from their current situation, in which they are under many threats; until the final objective of the project: their habitat recovered and living in harmony surrounded by all the biodiversity.
Didactic games, crazy balloon and dynamics on the environment are some of the activities that took place in the Ñu Guasu Park last Saturday. Also present were members of the Kuetuvy Community, protectors of the last forest remnant where the species lives, who commented on their experience and offered honey from their forests.
