The new National Prosecutor, Ángel Valencia, took his first big step since taking office: he asked the resignation of 14 heads of the specialized units of the Public Ministry, including Marta Herrera, a former candidate to head the Public Ministry.
However, Herrera decided to remain head of the Anti-Corruption Unit of the prosecuting entity, while she analyzes the legality of the request for the position made by Valencia. As she stated Channel 13In addition, the prosecutor was notified that she is no longer in command of the Legal Unit.
