In the first quarter of 2025, bidding will begin for the long-awaited water and sanitation work in Chilca Alta, province of Huancayo, a key project for more than five thousand families that currently lack access to basic services. The management of this work came about after a protest led by neighbors, who, with buckets in hand, demanded immediate solutions from the Junín Regional Government (GRJ), making visible the serious crisis they face daily.
The agreement was formalized yesterday in a meeting between the GRJ technical team and representatives of Chilca, where the remaining steps for the implementation of the project that will provide sectors such as Mirador Peñaloza, Nueva Argentina, Hualashuata, Pichkana, Buenos Aires, Vista Alegre, Atalaya, Héroes de Azapampa, Bosques de Azapampa and Villa Retama for drinking water and sanitary sewage.
Governor Zósimo Cárdenas highlighted that the Ministry of Economy has already validated the project file after all observations have been resolved.
“We continue to manage the necessary financing to guarantee the start of work in the first quarter of 2025,” indicated the governor, who was accompanied by the managers of Infrastructure, Budget and the General Management of the GRJ.
Efraín Huamán Canchari, president of the management committee, stressed the importance of this prioritization for the five thousand homes.
