With great joy and after 50 years of waiting, the ceremony to lay the first stone of the future plaza at Ex Cooperativa 60 took place this Wednesday morning, a historic moment that marks the beginning of a work that will transform this sector.
The work will be carried out by the District Municipality of La Yarada Los Palos, which borders the Republic of Chile. The district was created as a result of the lawsuit filed by the Peruvian state before the International Court of Justice in The Hague in order to demand the definition of the maritime border, since it was necessary to generate a greater presence of the Peruvian population on the border.
Future projects
During the groundbreaking ceremony, district mayor Samuel Cueva Huisa highlighted the planned future projects such as the modern Juan Velasco Alvarado educational center and the construction of the 28 de Agosto Health Center.
The residents present were grateful for the long-awaited project. The work of “Creation of the Service of Urban Public Spaces in the Ex Cooperativa 60” contemplates an investment of 945,640 soles and an execution period of 90 calendar days, that is, three months.
