The manager highlights that this strategy, although expensive, allows them to gain loyalty with clients while increasing the money they manage.
Afore Azteca is the Afore with the largest number of registered workers, with more than 17 million people.
It manages 367,446.4 million pesos in worker savings and is the Afore that registers the lowest amount in voluntary savings of the 10 administrators with just 1,698.3 million pesos, 0.5% of its portfolio.
Eduardo Parra highlighted that a couple of years ago, when the raffle campaign began, voluntary savings were able to increase around 20 million pesos and in 2025 the figure increased to more than 300 million.
To measure this growth, Afore Azteca recorded voluntary savings of 822.1 million pesos in September 2022, an increase of 106% compared to the more than 1,600 million it reported in September of this year.
“Little by little we are moving forward and we believe that it is a great value for our clients,” said Parra.
Regarding the returns that the Afores have registered this 2025, the highest on record, the manager highlighted that these are due to the investments that the Afores make in various instruments.
“It is not a consequence of greater contributions (from workers and employers), it is simply because the investments we make generate greater returns,” he said.
Regarding the Afore’s investment strategy in instruments such as stocks, government bonds, among others, Parra highlighted that they analyze and invest in different instruments without “marrying” one type of instrument.
“Favoring any asset is difficult because each one has its benefit, that is, in long-term bonds, we take the opportunity to make investments at interesting prices,” he listed. “In the Mexican Stock Market we also fortunately had good success, although in reality it is not success, it is part of the strategy.”
Regarding the projects of Plan México, by President Claudia Sheinabum, Afore Azteca said that they are reviewing some projects that can translate into returns for workers.
“We have been approaching different market participants to listen to all these investment projects and if risk is aligned with return, we will surely be there,” he assured.
