After describing the current Hydrocarbons Law as outdated, the vice president of the National Council of Private Enterprise (Conep), Cesar Dargam, assured that it is the best time to modify this legislation.
“The president has mentioned that he will submit to Congress a proposal to modify the law; It would be necessary to see what the terms of that law are and submit it to a broad consultation process, but the law is definitely outdated and it is a good time,” he said.
Interviewed at the Port of Haina, prior to the presentation of the new scanner of the General Directorate of Customs, Dargam said he hopes that said bill will be introduced in the next legislature.
He argued that 2021 was a positive year and the projections for 2022 are highly positive. However, he stated, they are affected when living in a scenario affected by the fluctuation in fuel prices. In this sense, he stated that he hopes that in the coming months it can be more regularized since it has a direct impact on the production chain.
The business leader recalled, despite this, that the reform of the Hydrocarbons Law is currently being discussed at one of the tables of the Economic and Social Council (CES).
