The Comptroller General of the Republic revealed a tax discovery for $ 5,670 million in the Civil Aeronautics (Aerocivil). The reason: a contract signed in 2022 to operate and maintain drinking and residual water systems in ten airports that did not have the required environmental licenses.
Airports without permits
The contract, identified as 22001380-02 H3included the terminals of Florence, Guaymaral, Leticia, Mariquita, Neiva, Pitalito, Puerto Asís, San Vicente del Caguán and Villagarzón.
The audit warned that in several of these airports drinking water systems (PTAP) and wastewater treatment (PTAR) operate No water concessions or dumping permits granted by environmental authorities. In cases such as Leticia and Villagarzón, there are not even current licenses.
This, according to the Comptroller, represents a Public health risk of travelers and nearby communities, since the spills could not meet the environmental standards.
Delays in key works
The report also questioned the slow advance of Airport program for essential air services (ASAES)considered a priority in the National Development Plan 2022-2026.
Although the Aerocivil committed more than $ 377,000 million In agreements with the National Army and Enterritory to improve 14 airfields, progress at the end of 2024 was barely 2.31 %. Only advances in Cumaribo (8.47 %) and spring (6.28 %).
The control agency warned that these delays can leave without solutions to remote communities that depend on air transport to access basic goods and services, in addition to generating cost overruns in the execution of the works.
