Search operations are expected to begin this Thursday morning.
In its most recent update, Civil Aeronautics assured that its group is in coordination with relief organizations to advance the search for the aircraft that covered the route between Juradó and Medellín. Traces of it were lost this Wednesday at 5:30 pm and it was heading towards the Olaya Herrera Airport.
The air authority indicated that, until now, Around 16 updates to the aircraft’s emergency system have been received. The possible location shows a rural area of the municipality of Urrao, in the department of Antioquia.

Initially, it was arranged an aircraft from the Colombian Aerospace Force to attend to that situation, but due to the weather conditions in the area it has not been possible to carry out the activities from the air, also due to the terrain conditions it has been difficult to access there (…). This aircraft is equipped with a radio beacon of which we have received several updates and we are trying to use these coordinates to guide the effort in a more precise way,” said the Director of Operations to Aerocivil Air Navigation, Juan José López.
