The Aerocivil advances in the disciplinary process for the unauthorized entry to the El Dorado tower, five officials were accused.
The Civil Aeronautics reported new progress in the disciplinary process related to the incident that occurred on July 21, 2025in the control tower of the El Dorado airport, where a young man unrelated to the operation entered the restricted area and would have assumed functions of the air traffic service.
The agency indicated that the actions have been carried out within the established procedures and remain ongoing to clarify responsibilities.
How is the case going?
The case under investigation arose from the access of this unauthorized young man, without technical certification, to an area that corresponds exclusively to personnel specialized in air traffic management.

This fact launched an internal investigation to determine how the entry occurred and which officials were involved in allowing or not preventing the presence of this person in a critical space for airport operations.
The entity explained that the investigation has focused on reconstructing what happened and reviewing compliance with the protocols established for this type of facilities.
After the preliminary stage, the Office of Internal Disciplinary Control of the Aerocivil determined the formulation of statement of charges on November 14. Five officials They were identified as allegedly responsible and called to answer for their actions during the incident, which marks the formal beginning of the disciplinary process in its trial phase.
In accordance with the procedure, this stage will make it possible to evaluate the possible individual responsibility of each of those investigated and the administrative consequences that could arise.
The Aerocivil also pointed out that the Attorney General’s Office has permanently accompanied the disciplinary action, leaving evidence that the procedure has followed the regulatory standards and has guaranteed the procedural rights of the officials involved. The entity stated that it continues to adopt measures aimed at strengthening operational security and administrative management.
In this sense, the implementation of corrective and preventive actions was announced in order to prevent a similar incident from occurring again and preserve the reliability of the air traffic control service, considered essential for airport operations in the country.
These actions are part of the adjustments that Aerocivil claims to be making to strengthen internal control mechanisms and compliance with current regulations.
