The advanced “evista” and the convocation of former president Evo Morales to a meeting of Runasur in Cusco set off the alarms in Peru. The Intelligence Commission of the Peruvian Congress indicates that it has footage of “people around the MAS” who proselytize and that they do not have legal registration of their entry into that country.

From the top of the ruling party they assure that they do not believe that Morales “gets involved” in internal affairs of that State.

Peruvian media and legislators reported alleged “operators” entering Peru without immigration registration and promoting a Constituent Assembly. They also denounce that there is a MAS office in Cusco.

Added to that scenario is the Runasur meeting that Morales convened for the 20th and 21st of this month precisely in Cusco. This body seeks to “unite” the social movements of the countries of the region and the former president of Bolivia is its main promoter.

The president of the Intelligence Commission, Congressman José Ernesto Cueto Aservi informed Página Siete that he has evidence that “people from the MAS environment” proselytize on Peruvian soil.

“We have several films of people around the MAS who are proselytizing. We have already officiated and we are going to be even more incisive so that the Ministry of the Interior and the Police act drastically, because there are many people related to Mr. Morales who enter and do not register. If it is not registered, then it is simply illegal, “he said.

The congressman added that he is “demanding” the Ministry of the Interior to make arrests and remove them from Peru. “We are not going to allow, at least from Congress, that this man (Evo Morales) continues to do whatever he wants,” he said.

In addition, Cueto expressed his rejection of Morales’ announcement to call a Runasur meeting on Peruvian soil. “He is nobody to want to set up a Runasur as he calls it and to mention all the brother countries, native peoples, whatever he wants, in a country that is not his (…). We are very brother countries with Bolivia, but he, Mr. Morales, does not have any authority to summon a summit in another country other than his, “he said.

On the other hand, the Foreign Relations Commission declared Morales a person no grata on November 22, due to – the resolution states – “his negative political activism in Peru and his evident interference and interference in the government’s political, social and economic agenda From Peru”.

Congressman Ernesto Bustamante, president of the commission of that commission, even announced a trip to Bolivia to make Morales understand what the declaration of persona no grata implies.

“In case you don’t understand, I announce that in January I will travel to Bolivia to let you know myself. Sure, I’ll talk about the politics of Peru, not Bolivia, ”he tweeted on November 22.

In addition to that, on November 29, Bustamante submitted a request for a report to the Ministry of the Interior “on the continuous infiltration into Peruvian territory of Bolivian citizens who respond to political calls by Bolivian citizen Juan Evo Morales Ayma.”

Felipa Huanca, consul in Puno receives Morales.

One of the voices that also questions Morales’ trips is that of Pedro Cateriano, politician and former president of the Council of Ministers in the governments of Martín Viscarra and Ollanta Humala.

“Who finances the trips to Peru of the coup leader Evo Morales in private planes?” Cateriano questioned, through his Twitter account with a photograph in which Morales and other people are seen next to a plane.

Advanced, operators

Since Pedro Castillo came to power in Peru, Morales began a crusade, which was expressed in at least three consecutive trips to the neighboring country. During his visits, he met with social sectors and spoke about the Constituent Assembly.

His first trip was on July 26, two days before Castillo’s inauguration. On that occasion he went with a delegation of leaders of the MAS and the Unity Pact and held meetings with Peruvian social organizations.

The second trip was on August 10, when the MAS leader attended the forum The role of popular organizations in political, economic and social changes in Latin America. On September 25, Morales traveled to Arequipa and participated in the National Youth Congress, organized by Peru Libre, an official party.

But it is not only Morales who crossed the border. Peruvian media revealed the entry into the neighboring country of alleged entire MAS delegations to engage in political proselytizing.

According to the Panorama program of Panamericana Televisión, these people, identified as “Evo Morales operators”, would have entered without immigration registration, according to a report from the National Intelligence Directorate, which was presented to the Foreign Relations Commission of Congress. Peruvian and the Security and Defense Directorate of the Foreign Ministry of the neighboring country.

The objective of this “advance” would be to promote in the social organizations of Peru the idea of the need to hold a Constituent Assembly to change the Peruvian Constitution.

On November 15, the newspaper La República published the note “Members of the party of Evo Morales promote the Constituent Assembly in Peru.” In this article an alleged “emissary” is identified, who appeared in a regional congress, within the framework of the collection of signatures that is being carried out in the neighboring country to achieve a Constituent Assembly.

“We cannot let foreign people appropriate the resources that belong to you and your children. We must stop the neoliberal right, the private businessmen who come and appropriate what is ours “, the” emissary “said at the event, according to the Peruvian newspaper.

A report from the Panorama program of Panamericana Televisión indicates that the MAS, months before, supposedly set up an office in Cusco. That outlet interviewed Isabel Ala Condori, who identifies herself as a “representative of the Bolivian MAS-IPSP residents”.

MAS’s position

Asked about these reports, the vice president of the MAS, Gerardo García, told Página Siete that he is completely unaware that his party has installed an office in the neighboring country and that he does not know Morales’ agenda on the trips he made to Peru, and that he does not believe that the coca grower leader “gets involved” in internal issues of that State, such as that of a Constituent Assembly.

“For me it is a surprise, a novelty that you give me this information. I do not know any office, I have not traveled to Peru. Nor have they given me information that we had created offices in Peru, for me it is a novelty, I do not know personally, “said García.
