Adriana Angarita on the suspension of classes in Colón: ‘Guild leaders must seek bridges to educational access’

The education expert and director of SénecaLab, Adriana Angarita, analyzed this Thursday the suspension of classes in the province of Colón due to the general strike that has been going on for three weeks.

He stressed that parents have a power that no one can take away from them, and it is “the power of my son’s future, I cannot hand over the power of my son to another person, our children cannot be left without an education.”

He stated that the issue of education is simple, however, it has become more complex because interests have intervened, but when the interest is pure and we talk about the education of children and the future, we must unite in principles that cannot change, as it is access to it.

According to Angarita, with this action a message is being sent that the children of Colon do not have access to education, so a dialogue and rapprochement with specific actions should be generated, but education cannot be stopped.

“When there is no education, when we lose them within the system, they are very close to being in other areas where we don’t want them, such as gangs and violence,” he concluded.
