“They are the accounts of the 155 sections that are blocked. Now, we are going to vote on the 9th, even if it is on cover paper and charcoal pencil, we are going to vote on the 9th to defeat the Government and its internal followers who want the things not to be done. elections“, held.

Hidalgo spoke after the National Executive Committee held a meeting extraordinary after learning that the Ministry of Education (minerd) seized the accounts of the teaching community.

Likewise, Hidalgo declared as “Day of duel“to this coming Monday the 7th, inviting all teachers to go dressed in black to their workplaces and to teachers of the National District, especially the members of regional 10 and 15, to appear at 10:00 in the morning in front of the minerdas part of a mobilization plan.

“We call on the national teaching profession to remain united around the Dominican Association of Teachers, which will remain firm and strengthened in the face of this government nonsense,” he requested.

“We want to have a union firm, united, classist and freedom“added the teacher.

Situation in Barahona

Hidalgo blamed the Minister of Education, Ángel Hernández, for the recent strikes occurred in Barahona and that, according to a release of the government agency, was the reason to proceed with the embargo of the accounts of the ADP.

“Month after month, in Barahona they have dozens of canceled and this month’s case is the one that has overflowed the cup, more than 30 teachers have been canceled in Barahona,” he explained.

Hidalgo called on Minister Hernández to present the evidence of the accusation that will be carried out this Saturday morning in the release of the minerdwhere the text indicates that the leader of the ADP in the province “has resorted to intimidating measures, including threats with weapons, to force other teachers to join the strikes“.

What he said minerd

The Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (minerd) issued this Saturday a release clarifying that the embargo recent at accounts of the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) is not due to union or electoral reasons.

This legal measure responds to the prolonged suspension of the teaching in Barahonastarted at the beginning of the school year by the ADP.

In his statement, the minerd pointed out that the paralyzation of classes in Barahonaas well as in Azua and San Francisco de Macorís, has been promoted by a minority faction of the ADPwhich uses the strikes as a strategy to promote their candidates, which violates the right of students to quality education and the continuity of the school calendar.
