The president of the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP), Eduardo Hidalgo, denounced today that of 6,000 public schools that the country has, only 900 have received the uniforms.
He also denounced that only 10% of students have received 50% of school texts. That is, they have received only 4 of the 8 texts.
Hidalgo said that about 30% of students have not received any text.
The unionist complains that this situation occurs more than a month of starting classes and blamed the Ministry of Education of that deficit.

He said that this figure emerges from a study by the Teacher Union to evaluate the first 30 days of teaching.
Only 900 of 6,000 public schools in the country have received uniforms more than a month after the start of classes, says ADP
Regarding the uniforms, the president of the ADP said they must have been in schools in August, although he recognized the difficulties that the National Student Welfare Institute has had (INABIE).
“We are worried, because just in 900 educational centers is that they have received the uniforms,” he said.
Personal lack
The president of the ADP said that “there are schools that are being treated and cleaned, by parents, students, teachers and teachers, due to lack of support and administrative staff,” he said.
“It does not mean that they are not named. They are on the payroll but are not going to work, because they say the jobs are very low,” he continued.
“There are people who say they did not do politics for a salary of 14,000 pesos,” said Hidalgo and called the authorities of the Ministry of Education to solve that problem.
He considered that the minister, Luis Miguel de Camps, must take measures, because the regional directors and the district directors “turn a blind eye” on that thorny issue.
Hidalgo said that “10% of students enrolled in public schools could not initiate classes on August 25 due to lack of minimum conditions, while 58% of the more than 1,200 educational centers require repairs that have not yet been carried out.”
Kake businessmen
Hidalgo today held business sectors and neoliberal groups for the serious crisis of the public education system, which.
As he said, these sectors have been profitful of 4% assigned to education with millionaire contracts, overvaluations and privileges granted from the State, making education a market and not a right.
“They have profited with unfinished or low quality school constructions, with suppliers that monopolize school food and with book and technology contracts that never resolved the educational and digital gap,” said Hidalgo.
“Corruption, historical poor management and business in education are obstacles that prevent quality education in the Dominican Republic,” said the teaching leader.
Defend teachers
The president of the Dominican Association of Teachers, Eduardo Hidalgo, said that “attacks against teachers and ADP seek to divert attention from the deep crisis that Dominican education is going through and corruption scandals.”
