Adoption of new digital channels drives growth in the insurance sector

By promoting the culture of investment in insurance, we make citizens feel that security in their personal finances and positively impact their beneficiaries, as stated by Paula Ruíz, Director of Insurance at Seguros Sura México.

For the following years, the country’s insurance industry sees an encouraging outlook. According to the Timely Performance of the Insurance and Surety Sector study, in the first quarter of 2024, this sector registered an increase of 7.3% compared to the same period of the previous year, when it was 5.3 percent.

Likewise, the life insurance recorded an increase of 15%those for major medical expenses 8.5%, and those for cars 25.2%, according to the same source. Thanks to these figures, it is possible to affirm that Mexicans show greater interest in investing in a policy that allows them to maintain a economic stability against any eventuality, whether in the short, medium or long term.

This 2024, Sura Insurance forecasts to close the year with a growth of 13% and sales of 8.3 billion pesos. As of August 2024, the insurer estimates it has sold 179,669 policies, including new ones and renewals.

“Through my experience as the company’s Insurance Director, I can maintain that Mexico is a country with great potential in the insurance sector. I consider that the culture of prevention is an area of ​​opportunity; However, at Seguros SURA, we have been promoting for several years that Mexicans have better personal finances, since a policy is the best way to maintain peace of mind in the face of an emergency,” said Ruíz Márquez.

The adoption of new digital channels and understanding the needs of Mexican culture have been fundamental for the growth of the company, which has always stood out for generating credibility among its policyholders, creating simple to understand and clear solutions when it comes to compensation.

“In Insurance Sura We continue to innovate and adapt insurance to the demands of Mexican users. One of the main demands is the need to hire more quickly and in a personalized way. For this reason, we have created the Alternate Channels area, where each user can choose the way to purchase their policy,” they explain.
