In order to strengthen the education of adolescents in conflict with the Criminal Law within the framework of the beginning of the 2022 school year, the Arco Iris Custody Center (CCAI) carried out training in “Literacy” aimed at developing skills cognitive factors that favor the success of the educational process of those deprived of liberty.
“It is essential that the inmates have a total mastery of methodological strategies of reading and writing as a fundamental tool in the teaching-learning process, to support education that is a pillar for the professional training of those who are the future generations of our country” , indicated Dilcia Esther Valdés, education coordinator of the Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies (IEI) and the Ministry of Education (Meduca).
Techniques to read correctly, clearly understand the ideas of a text, perform critical evaluation, understand content, locate specific information, practical applications, quick reviews, study reading and its levels, distraction, were some of the points discussed by the facilitator .
“The reading and writing strategies are linked to all the subjects of the school plans and develop the necessary skills for good performance in studies, facilitating the understanding and argumentation of writing, which affects academic and therefore professional progress. labor and personal of the students”, pointed out Valdés.
The project will continue to be carried out in the different centers of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies at the national level.
