Administration led by Ripamonti (RD) reports that it reduced Viña del Mar’s municipal debt from $ 19 to $ 12 billion

Administration led by Ripamonti (RD) reports that it reduced Viña del Mar's municipal debt from $ 19 to $ 12 billion

With the application of concrete measures aimed at ordering municipal finances, the Municipality of Viña del Mar reported that it managed to reduce the financial deficit from 19 thousand to 12 thousand million pesos during the four months of management since the militant mayor of the Democratic Revolution took office. (RD) Macarena Ripamonti.

The objective is part of the programmatic commitment made by Mayor Ripamonti and which, through the Finance Committee, allowed for a response and solutions regarding payments.

“It is public knowledge that the administration of the Municipality of Viña del Mar was not delivered in the best financial conditions. Therefore, on day one, our priority was to order the house and our finances, where the Financial Committee, in these few months, he has taken concrete measures that at the end of the day are for the benefit of the Viñamarina community, “said the communal authority.

The RD mayor explained that “it is estimated that the unpaid accrued debt fell from 19 billion to 12 billion in the last 3 months. Arrears were also reduced from 6 months to 4, prioritizing payments from medium and small suppliers and reducing the delay to 2 months, the payment of essential services for the commune, controlling that the existing arrears do not prevent the provision of essential services such as cleaning, green areas, security, lighting, patching, sidewalks, among others. “

He also indicated that there is a constant review of the contracts that today has allowed a possibility of savings, “such as the home cleaning contract with the Cosemar company, which optimizes the service and allows savings of more than 440 million pesos per year” , he specified.

Up to date with the corporation

According to Ripamonti’s management, it has also been possible to keep up to date with current transfers from the Municipal Corporation (the previous administration had a debt with a payment delay of at least 4 months). As they point out, the delay generates great damages for the institution, increasing the amount of unpaid contributions from workers and the interest generated by not paying suppliers.

In this sense, the mayor pointed out that “we got up to date with the transfer fees of the Municipal Corporation that takes charge of the health and education of the most vulnerable population of Viña del Mar, updating our fees until November 2021 “.

Ripamonti pointed out that a budget was established for the year 2022 that puts health, education, culture, and the recovery of public space at the center.

Regarding the last issue, the communal chief stated that for years it was the object of investment and that the figures in this regard were made up. “That is why we deliver all the data correctly and on time to our Council, to have a realistic budget, seeking a financial balance such as has never been had in the Viña del Mar administration, which is consistent with the financial needs of the commune, “he said.
