This Saturday the second session of the Generational Relay political seminar was held, which was attended by young people between the ages of 16 and 29 at the San Lázaro Legislative Palace.
Initiatives on social issues were presented as part of a session in which projects related to gender violence were highlighted.
Crossings of accusations were also unleashed between supporters and detractors of the current government present at the seminar.
The session was held in the Plenary Hall of the Chamber of Deputies, under the coordination of Miguel Torruco Garza, from Morena, who later gave control of the table to young participants in the exercise.
One of the proposals that were presented in the gallery was made by Sarahí Santiago and Adriana Marín, who called for the strengthening of sexual education throughout the country as a way to eradicate gender violence, because only by talking about issues such as toxic masculinity and femicide, these aspects can be made visible and gradually generate changes, they pointed out.
Carlos Omar Ruiz Magaña put on the table an initiative in order to give greater weight to mental health as a way to prevent suicides.
Debate on government and access to employment
By making use of his voice, youth deputy Ruiz Magaña warned that there are currently few institutions that are involved in the care of emotional well-being, which leaves that aspect in a very secondary plane, he said.
Likewise, topics that generated the most burning exchange of opinions were addressed, in which the participants debated even loudly, such as the one related to the government actions that must be taken in the face of climate change, as well as the positions for and against climate change. current six-year term and of the opposition parties.
Other issues presented during the session had to do with the lack of access of young people to job opportunities, punishment of those who use chemical agents to attack women and the need to spread the culture of indigenous peoples, as well as the creation of a Mexican space agency.
