The government party is assuming a lot of responsibility for failed projects and it is finding it difficult to recover that confidence with its candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, said the presidential candidate, Crispiano Adames.
According to Adames, the great pressure of the political erosion and social discontent of the PRD bases, are sinking more and more to the candidate of the Executive; likewise, exacerbating the discontent of the Panamanian who does not see promised social works to conclude and others not even to start.
For the aspirant to the presidency of “your vote is your voice”, you cannot aspire to a presidential chair with a weak candidate, but one that encompasses the greatest number of expectations, unifies and rescues the true mystique of the PRD.
In Adames’ opinion, presenting a weak figure for the presidential elections in May 2024 would be like buying a train ticket bound for probable failure, as is the candidate endorsed by the Executive.
Consulted by the media about his management at the head of the Legislature, Adames mentioned Law 920, which establishes that from the year 2024 public spending and investment in the education sector will not be less than 7% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), corresponding to 5.5% for Meduca, IPHE and the official universities, in total the investment in education at the national level would be 6%.
Likewise, he mentioned the project of Law 329, which regulates situations of conflict of interest in the public function, placing Panama on a par with the countries of Chile, Argentina, Spain and others, which respond to this scourge through stricter control.
Due to the above, the pre-candidate said that once the legislative period closed, he opted for a leave without pay and to move away from the Assembly, to avoid misinterpretations.
During a campaign tour of various points in San Miguelito, Adames pointed out that his emoluments have been donated to a charitable organization, an action that the vice president has not taken to separate from office, for the simple fact that in this way he can exert greater economic pressure against others candidates; issue that he considers should be included in an electoral reform.
Adames lamented that, in his several weeks of touring the country, the pain of Panamanians is more accentuated, due to the lack of drinking water, deterioration of roads, lack of public policies to counteract insecurity, educational and health infrastructures.
