The closeness of López Hernández with López Obrador has been for decades, as the father of the senator, Payambé López Falconi, helped the formation of the PRD in Tabasco, which the federal ex -president headed.

A political bomb?

The political scientist Javier Rosiles Salas He considers that Morena is in the prelude to a political crisis, so the case of Adam Augusto and his former security chief complicates the situation of the party.

He warns that, until now, the political agency managed to fight this scandal because it is the first year of Claudia Sheinbaum as president and that it has a support of more than 70% of citizens.

However, the specialist warns, the link of the former Secretary of the Interior with the alleged leader of the criminal group “La Barredora” is a political “bomb” that could explode in the medium term.

“The president privileges unity and that is why she has maintained it (as coordinator), but this will have an effect on the medium term. Adam Augusto is not any character,” he says.

Rosiles argues that Adam Augustus ceased to be a political asset within Morena to become a “negative”, which also affects the group he formed, known as Grupo Tabasco, already nearby characters as Senator Andrea Chávez, who seeks the candidacy for the Chihuahua government.

Also figure Gerardo Fragoso Díazwho was one of the people closest to Rosalinda López, sister of Adam Augusto López. Since September 2024, it is the internal comptroller of the Senate, so it is also responsible for transparency, accountability and protection of personal data in the upper house.
