Adalberto Martínez remembers Benedict XVI and prays for his rest

Rest in the peace of the Lord, Benedict XVI. From Asunción-Paraguay we unite in prayer for the eternal rest of the Pope Emeritus (1927-2022)”, wrote Adalberto Martínez through his Twitter account.

The announcement was given by the Holy See through a statement. The death occurred at 9:34 in the morning of Rome.

Concern for the state of health of the German pope and theologian arose on Wednesday, December 28, when his successor, Francis, acknowledged that he was “very ill” and asked for “a special prayer” from the faithful who attended his general audience.
