The National Society of Industries (SNI) met this Thursday, December 22, with President Dina Boluarte, at the Government Palace, with the aim of sharing the balance of damage to companies due to acts of vandalism after the attempted coup by Pedro Castillo, who is turning 18 months old preventive detention.

“The damage has been irreparable. There are 3 thousand 200 million soles, which in the southern region has been much more visible. Arequipa was the hardest hit region with more than 230 million in losses, Ica with 500 million and Cusco with close to 400 million,” Salazar said at a press conference.
According to the balance, mining lost more than 600 million soles in a single week, agriculture around 450 million and industry in general more than 300 million. In addition, the entire northern area reached almost 900 million losses.
Union representatives also provided President Boluarte with proposals to reactivate the economy.
“We are promoting access microcredits, without further processing. Perhaps a bonus of 500, 800 or a thousand soles will have an immediate effect, but it would be directing that microcredit to a productive investment”, he pointed out.
