Suárez, 80 years old, flew to that country last Sunday with the purpose of applying for a visa at the United States Embassy and being able to reunite with his family in the North American country. according to what she herself said.
The Cuban sports journalist Julita Osendi, close to Suárez, assured in the last hours of this Tuesday that the renowned actress had also been diagnosed with pneumonia.
Osendi specified that Suárez had initially been treated at the Institute of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery in Havana, whose specialists recommended that the actress enter. However, Suárez chose to travel to Guyana to attend his appointment at the United States Embassy.
Currently, in Guyana, she is being treated by both Cuban and Guyanese doctors. “She has finally been admitted and is being treated by Cuban and Guyanese doctors. The Cuban Embassy has taken charge,” explained Osendi.
The actress herself offered statements the day before his hospital admission, in which he stated: “I feel very short of breath at this moment, but now they are going to admit me and I am going to improve.”
Suárez added that she took the plane to Guyana while she was already suffering from the effects of the heart attack, something that considerably aggravated her condition: “I got on the plane with a heart attack and then that made me very bad. “On Saturday I had chest pain, they helped me there in Cuba, but they didn’t know it had been a heart attack.”
According to Osendi, this Wednesday doctors are expected to perform a coronary angiography to determine exactly what treatment he should follow.
