The Argentine actor Gabriel Gerez, 22, was admitted wounded this Friday afternoon to the Pasteur Hospital. He was taken there by the police after the young man reported having been tortured and held, reported Underlined (channel 10) and confirmed sources of the case to The Observer.
The young man has bruises and minor burns, and is awaiting medical studies. In that state, residents of the Buceo neighborhood saw him, and they called the 911 emergency service.
Gerez told the police that he arrived from Argentina a few days ago to work, and that in the last hours he was locked in a room and tortured. It is not yet clear where the place where he was deprived of his freedom was.
A man – owner, now detained – gave him a job in a bakery in the Sayago neighborhood, located on José Caparroz and Sayago avenue. The store was inspected by investigators; the Scientific Police gathered skills since the young man lived in a room on the second floor of the premises.
Gerez, who justified his trip to Uruguay due to labor problems in his country, posted a photo on Instagram three days ago with a location in the Cordón neighborhood.
The owner of the bakery will testify in the next few hours before the prosecutor Rodrigo Morosoli. He was arrested this Friday afternoon at the bakery, where one of the policemen saw that he had blood on his hands, they reported. Underlined Y Telemundo (channel 12).
