Activities culminate within the framework of Operative Caacupe 2022

MINNA completed the care and protection days within the framework of #OperativoCaacupé 2022, with significant achievements in the protection of children and adolescents.

During the two days of the operation, the spaces enabled had a significant turnout. Around 300 girls, boys and adolescents accessed the direct care services offered by the institution.

This year, the protection center located in the Abrazo Program Care Center received a total of 80 girls, boys and adolescents, between 0 and 14 years of age.

While in the tent located in the central square of Villa Serrana, Lt. Fariña, 250 girls, boys and adolescents, mostly belonging to the Maká indigenous community, received food, recreation and rest services. The objective was to reduce the risks associated with accompanying their parents or guardians in their economic activities during the religious festival.

The Vice Minister of Planning, Programs and Projects, Walter Gutiérrez, was present to support the work carried out by the MINNA teams in the protected areas.

On the other hand, the teams of family support and social promoters from DRI Calle and DRI RED, worked intensely, walking the streets and through boarding, offering the services of safe spaces.

In this context, 2 missing children (a 12-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl) were protected, both were found alone, and alerted by the public, it was possible to access and contact their relatives, for their reconnection; Thus, the 12-year-old boy was transferred to her home in the Central department, while the 2-year-old girl was withdrawn from the Protection Center by her mother, after full identification of her. In this way, one more Operation concluded, also thanking the institutions and organizations for their support, through which we were able to meet the proposed objectives; They are the Municipality of Caacupé, the Public Ministry, the National Emergency Secretariat and the organization Plan International Paraguay.
