Activists from the civil association Sélvame del Tren, together with citizens, protested yesterday at the construction works of the Mayan Train in section 5 south, at the height of Akumal, with the purpose of stopping the work. Machinery and a dozen workers did not work.
José Urbina, an activist, explained that the intention was also to inform the workers of the repercussions that this work entails for the environment.
Urbina pointed out that at least this Friday they managed to stop the work. For at least one day they did not devastate the jungle or damage the ecosystems that this building compromises.
