Activation of ravine drags buses with passengers in Cajamarca

The rainfall recorded in the Cajamarca region caused the activation of the Alcuniz stream, in the district of Cochabamba, province of Chota.

The overflow hit a bus from the Ángel Divino transport company that was transporting 50 people, who managed to evacuate the unit before it was swept away by the waters.

The incident occurred when the vehicle was trying to cross the stream, whose flow increased due to the rains and the material that descended strongly through the area.

According to local authorities, all occupants managed to exit through the back of the vehicle. Some passengers had minor injuries as a result of the disorder and emergency, for which they received immediate attention.

Members of the National Police and personnel from the Health sector went to the scene to provide support and transfer the injured to medical centers.
