The Airport Department (DA) announced this Thursday the activation, together with agencies of the sector and the Ministry of Tourism, of the Action Plan for the Management of Passenger Flow in High Season at International Airports, regarding the proximity of the Christmas festivities.
The announcement of the initiative was made during the celebration this Thursday, together with executives, collaborators and special guests, of a Eucharist in the Primate Cathedral of America, regarding the 44th anniversary of the institution.

“This plan will facilitate, in a safe and comfortable way, the entry and exit of passengers in all the country’s international airports,” said the director of the DA, Víctor Pichardo, who said that the actions began on the 15th of this month.
While, when taking a tour of the executions, the official highlighted the challenges overcome by the institution in the last two years, to achieve the recovery of national tourism, hand in hand with the Presidency of the Republic and the Tourism Cabinet.
“We managed to get the Dominican Republic recognized as the country that best managed the crisis,” Pichardo pointed out after thanking the trust, support and commitment of President Luis Abinader with the advancement of the sector and the entire country.
He valued the executions in marches, such as the National Heliport Network project, the “El Granero del Sur” Domestic Airport, in the province of San Juan, and “the most important project of this effort, the Cabo Rojo International Airport, in Pedernales” .
“And, we are extremely proud that this week, we eliminated the authorization with 24 hours in advance that the Air Force Operations Center required pilots and aircraft owners to carry out domestic flights,” he said.
He pointed out that, in the case of the private sector, the security climate generated by the government It has been expressed in the expansion of the Punta Cana International Airport and the Cibao International Airport; the reconditioning of the runway at the Gregorio Luperón International Airport, and the renovation of the commercial areas of the José Francisco Peña Gómez International Airport.
