Civil police from Rio de Janeiro fulfill, on Tuesday (15), an operation aimed at dismantling criminal group that practiced cyber crimes against children and adolescents. The safe teenage operation is serving temporary arrest warrants and search and seizure, as well as provisional hospitalization against adolescents offenders.
Crimes of hatred, attempted murder, instigation to suicide, abuse to animals, nazism and storage and dissemination of child pornography are investigated.
The warrants are being fulfilled in the states of Rio, Sao Paulo, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Goiás and Rio Grande do Sul, with the support of the civil police of these states. It also participates in the action of the Cyber Operations Laboratory (CIBERLAB) of the National Secretariat of Security. Until 7:30 am on Tuesday (15), two men had been arrested and two teenagers, seized.
Investigations began in February this year, after the release, live on the internet, of an attack by a teenager against a homeless person. In the aggression, the young man launched a Molotov cocktail against the sleeping victim and had 70% of his body burned.
Investigations found that the attack was not isolated and that the server administrators who aired the attack video made up a criminal organization specializing in cyber crimes.
According to the Civil Police, the criminal group spread through different digital platforms, where they psychologically manipulated children and adolescents, enticing them. The investigation was supported by two US agencies, which reported on the performance of the criminal organization.
